What is Acne?

Acne begins when a build up of oil occurs in the hair follicle, creating a plug that traps oil and dead cells under the surface of the skin. The clogged follicle becomes a fertile breeding ground for p.acnes bacteria -the main cause of acne. The p.acnes bacteria thrive when there is a lack of oxygen. This anaerobic environment creates the perfect condition for the p.acnes bacteria to reproduce colonies and release porphyrin.

New research has shown that by targeting the pore with certain type of light, an oxygen rich environment is created that destroys the p.acnes. Understanding these principals has led to the development of a breakthrough acne clearance treatment - LHE™ Acne Clearance.

About LHE™ IPL Acne Clearance

LHE™ IPL technology by Radiancy Inc. offers a unique approach to Acne Clearance. It uses a combination of light (green and red) and heat to destroy acne-causing bacteria (p.acnes).  LHE stands for the Light and Heat Energy combined in one effective treatment.

How the acne treatment works.
Throughout its life time acne-causing bacteria (p.acnes) causes porphyrin molecules to be produced. Green light penetrates deep beneath the skin surface and causes the porphyrin molecules to release oxygen. Oxygen attacks and destroys the acne bacteria. The more bacteria - the more porphyrin is there - the more oxygen is produced to destroy the acne bacteria in return.

Red light quickly reduces the inflammation from the base of the hair follicle.

The heat clears the pores, speeds up the chemical reaction and soothes the acne lesions.

LHE™ applies the totally natural energy - visible light spectrum of specific wave length and heat - locally on to the acne area.  No unsafe energy types or ingesting chemicals and compromising the immune system.

LHE™ is a highly effective technology for clearing acne with virtually no discomfort or downtime. Typically clients can experience some mild redness after each session which goes away within the same day. A soothing lotion with a sunscreen is applied post treatment.

LHE™ acne phototherapy is also ideal for treating the redness associated with moderate and cystic acne. Each treatment takes about 30-45 minutes. A typical treatment regimen consists of 8 treatments over a 4-week period. The results are usually seen within three to four weeks with further scar improvement continuing for even 5-6 months after the treatment is finished.
